Voddie Baucham – Love and Marriage – Part 3 – The Other Half
Voddie Baucham – Love and Marriage – Part 4 – The Better Half
In summary, Voddie is stating the high calling of a husband and a godly man – will we live up the standard? Honestly, I think I fall far short, but I am trying to be the better man I ought to be. I am fallen short of the mark, I have not taken enough responsibility, I have not put in the best effort to be the gentleman I could possibly be. I have not yet led or are able to lead spiritually : all these shortcomings point to one thing. I need God’s love to love as a husband, grace to care as a husband and wisdom to take charge as a husband. God leads me, I lead the family.
A chord of three strands is not easily broken. This isn’t You, Me, and our Children. This is You, Me, and God. The first person in a godly relationship must be God, who put all things together. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. A partner and a helper is God can provide, who provided Adam with an excellent and able helper Eve – leave it to God to provide you that excellent and loving wife or husband.
